Regulation (EU) 2023/1805 sets limits on the greenhouse gas intensity of energy used by ships calling at EU ports, with progressively stricter targets through 2050.

The regulation sets the following reduction trajectory relative to the 2020 baseline:
2% reduction from 2025
6% reduction from 2030
14.5% reduction from 2035
31% reduction from 2040
62% reduction from 2045
80% reduction from 2050
