The Act establishes a permanent fast-track approvals regime for a range of infrastructure and development projects. In October 2023, the government announced its decision to include 149 projects in the Fast-track Approvals Bill. Projects include housing development, aquaculture and farming projects, new road, rail and public transport projects, as well as renewable energy projects.
